Symbols – a compilation of your thinking . . .

Here are some of the great things you’ve said. In reality, I shouldn’t be compiling these for you, and you should be reading these yourselves, but I want to show off the great thinking you’re doing regarding symbols. I did some thinking on my own blog as well, and you’re welcome to check it. Peruse these before or after you post your latest article.
He is weak but the fish brings out the strongness of the old man.
I like how the old man thinks of fish as his brother and doesn’t want to kill him. They fight over and over and never give up.
the old man is much stronger than you would expect. The fish is still hooked, and his hand is cramped, but he never lets go.
The old man is very independent and stubborn but he is physically and mentally strong. The man knows what he is doing and what each movement means and uses that information to know what his next move will be.
some symbols i have noticed is when he is talking about how he seeing black spots. Maybe its a way of saying that he is going to black out when he tries to get the fish.
I think it is interesting how weak the old man is getting. He is convinced that the fish is going to die before he is.
wagl:
the Hawk is a symbol for his courage it shows up and just stares at him. And then the man tries harder to fight this beast of a fish.
He keeps mentioning all of the actions that this fish is going to do and when he is doing it. This is a symbol to me because he knows what to expect, but also seems so overwhelmed by this experience.
he knows this fish isn’t going to fit in the boat. But still he keeps trying to get this fish in
