You give painters credit they deserve

Concerning your thinking on the tools of a painter, I appreciate the credit you give to painters for being thoughtful creators.

Jean2008 points out that a painter likely knows an entire story behind each painting – it makes me want to guess about what story a painter might have had in mind.

Emmerz makes this point about the emotive quality in painting: ““I think paintings are so effective because you’re able to feel what the painter was trying to go for.”

Even when you couldn’t articulate the exact tools a painter is using, you knew she was conveying something significant, possibly about herself. This comes from FreakyFun: “If you want to know what a painter is like then you could look at their paintings and probably find our within a matter of just a few.”

Obviously, PunchDrunkLove knows what she’s talking about when she identifies color as important for the painter: “For example if “starry night” by van gogh captures the beauty of the night sky by using hues of blue and swirls instead of the regular black and yellow for the skies.” She also mentions the uniqueness of a particular subject, the human face, for painting mood.

If you evaluate paintings with this level of thoughtfulness, you will certainly do well on your Poe assignment.
