[...] Well… The first thing that I want to say about the blog that Mr. Sheehy wrote is that I think he is right. A lot of the things that he said in his blog relate to the way that I read myself. I noticed that I am a “faker” and that sometimes I pretend to read, and really I am not reading at all. I read the first couple of sentences, but if those don’t catch my attention I have no motivation to read the story or book. I know that it’s something that I have to do, but I just get bored with it and confused. I do like to read though. [...]

[...] what i thought about Mr. sheehy’s letter was very interseting. however why we call it a book is because we are so use to call anything that we read a book. we don’t get a tecnical about what is a novel, book or a short story. we just call it a book. Kind of like cars people don’t really car what the car is called like a grand am or a ford we just call it a car or a truck. You don’t relize that you didn’t call it by what the brand is you just call it what you are use to. My problem reading this short story is that it is hard for me to read period. when i was younger i use love to read and write but once i got in to fifth grade i started having problems and i have been having problems ever sence. I now what the words mean in my head and i can read really well in my head but once you make me read out loud that is my problem. Even when i read by myself i can read really good if i am not tired or if i have other things on my mind then it is going to be very hard to make me consintrae on a book no matter if i like the book or not i will have a problems reading it and right know is not the time for my mine to be in the right place right know. [...]

[...] Well first off I would like to say sorry Mr. Sheehy. I should probably contribute to start helping to calm people down when they are starting to get noisy. SO I would like to start that today on being quiet and keeping my “personality” if you will on the down low. But I will try to be a better student to save you some hassle. [...]

[...] My response to Mr. Sheehy’s thoughts. I totally understand where our teacher is coming from. I will admit that I have been a “faker” lately. I think that I just need to get myself more motivated. Reading really stinks but there is a lot of it in life so I just have to deal with it. I guess I don’t know what else to say really. I will try my best from now on, instead of just giving up right away. Filed under: Uncategorized [...]

[...] All of these statements are true. Most of the class doesn’t like to read and to be truthful neither do I. But I read so I can get it done. I force myself to figure out the hard parts that I’m stumped on. [...]

[...] My habits are very simple. I just read. This is my strategy because I believe that eventually I will find something that I like about the story I’m reading. In every story that I read, I try to gain something, whether it is a special quote or saying. My goal is to try to gain something from every story I read. [...]

[...] When I read his comment or letter to us students I think of how much trouble it must be to hand out an essay or some kind of homework and over half the students not do it. I think its point less to give home work to us students but we need the homework so we have a chance to pass class. Now with the whole reading thing. I don’t like to read a lot of things because it takes a lot to grab my attention. If I don’t find a story interesting I most likely wont read it. But that’s just me. I learn better when things are said to me or I listen to them trough head phones. It’s the same way with a lot of other kids too. [...]
