Old Man and the Sea: Initial reaction
Having read the first 20 pages of The Old Man and the Sea, please explain your initial reaction to the book. I realize you will not have too much to
say yet, so if you run out of things to say about what we already read, extend into the future and predict where the story will go.
Also within this article, please identify one line that stood out to you somehow. Copy it into your blog article and explain why that line particularly stood out. You can weave your line into your explanation of your reaction if you’d like.
As far as the blogging goes, though, please set apart the quote from the text (using that “indent” icon - it’s the seventh one from the left on your toolbar) and link back to this article. Make your reaction 7-10 sentences.

[...] The Old Man and The Sea. I really can’t say a lot right now. The description in the book was awesome so far and i’m pretty sure we will see more of it throughout the book. The old man seems like a die hard kind of person. He knows what little he has and he still keeps trying his best. He does not seem very worried at all but on the same level he does not really seem to care about a lot. Now the boy on the other hand seems helpful and almost like a son to the old man. He is very kind and caring and worries a lot about the old man. I think in a way that makes the old man happy. [...]
[...] The Old Man and the Sea started out about a boy with an experienced fisherman. My reaction to what we have read is good. I can relate to some of the things he describes in the book like the fact of being with someone that you think is a great fisherman. I always thought of my grandpa as being the greatest fisherman since he has taught everyone in my family the great techniques to catch fish. I think that the story will continue about a story of fishing from the old man. The quote that stuck out to me in this story was I can remember the tail slapping and banging and the thwart breaking the and the noise of the clubbing…..” This stuck out to me because it always seems we remember the bad thing and the most happiest moments out of our whole life. [...]
