Exploring Poetry

As you look to write about a poet, consider at least three potential poets you might research. List those three, then explain what poet you lean towards. Why? Be as specific as possible when explaining why you want to research that particular poet.
After explaining that poet, begin a new paragraph and tell us about your experience over the last two classes regarding poetry. What have your thoughts been during the discussions? Tell the story of the discussions and exploration from your point of view. You can emphasize the process, the poetry, or both.

[...] The three poets that I think I’d like to get to know better would either be Walt Whitman, Sylvia Plath, or Langston Hughes. The one I would LOVE to do is Walt Whitman. I first heard of him from the movie The Notebook. I loved it and thought that if they put him in that movie he has to be a GREAT poet. Then last year I read a poem that he wrote and felt like he knew exactly what I wanted to hear. Almost as if he was reading my mind and putting it into soft, brilliant flowing words!
